Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the department to achieve Spire's key performance metrics, ensuring the department operates efficiently and safely.
- Manage and lead the in-patient services team, including recruitment, onboarding, mandatory training, and identifying development needs through performance evaluations and personal development plans. Ensure staff records are maintained accurately and up to date, covering aspects such as leave, training, and absences.
- Address and manage patient complaints and feedback in accordance with Spire policies.
- Establish effective systems for managing inventory in line with financial guidelines, ensuring optimal use and intelligent ordering, while collaborating with the Finance Manager for compliance.
- Conduct audits and reviews of departmental performance, implementing action plans based on findings.
- Collaborate with the Business Development Team to enhance services and meet targets, including attracting Consultants to the department.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with external organizations to promote standardization and share best practices.
- Ensure that Clinical Governance and risk management practices are integrated into daily operations.
- Perform any other duties that reasonably align with the responsibilities of the position.
Candidate Profile
- Registered Nurse with a valid NMC pin.
- Experience in an acute care setting.
- Proven track record as a Clinical Manager, preferably in a busy surgical ward.
- Possess a diverse skill set supported by professional and clinical knowledge gained through state registration and additional training.
- Experience in a similar private healthcare environment is advantageous.
- Prior experience at the Ward Manager level is essential for immediate contribution.
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
