About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at Medway Council. As a key member of our educational staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the professional work of teachers and contributing to the delivery of high-quality education to our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in planning, preparing, and delivering learning activities for individuals, groups, or whole classes.
  • Monitor pupils' progress, assess, record, and report on their achievement, progress, and development.
  • Take responsibility for agreed learning activities under the supervision of a qualified teacher.
  • Complement the professional work of teachers by providing support and guidance to students.
Requirements
  • Desirable: HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and experience of leading, at some level, within the classroom.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
