As an EMHP, you will play a vital role in improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in the community.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver evidence-based interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems in education settings.
- Help children and young people with more severe problems access specialist services.
- Support and facilitate staff in education settings to identify and manage mental health and wellbeing issues.
- Work with education environments to improve access to specialist mental health services.
- Coordinate and manage a caseload of children and young people with emotional health and wellbeing difficulties in schools under supervision.
- Provide training to schools' staff, parents, and carers in conjunction with colleagues.
- Promote whole-school approaches to developing and maintaining emotional health and wellbeing.
- Graduate Certificate/Postgraduate Certificate qualification as an EMHP.
- British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited or British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) EMHP training course or preparing to submit for accreditation.
- Confidence in assessing and delivering high-quality, outcome-focused, evidence-based low-intensity interventions.
- Experience working in a school setting and collaborating with colleagues in Early Help, Social Care, and the wider system.
- A calm, friendly, and compassionate outlook, with a keen interest in early intervention and mental health promotion.
