Civil Engineer Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our team at ZipRecruiter. As a key member of our Infrastructure Design team, you will be responsible for designing and developing infrastructure projects, including drainage and highway systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop infrastructure projects, including drainage and highway systems, for major infrastructure and residential developments.
  • Produce and issue technical drawings for tender and construction purposes in accordance with design standards and quality management procedures.
  • Develop and implement drainage and levels strategies in support of planning applications, including flood risk assessment reports.
  • Collaborate with the Infrastructure Team and Senior Director to support the production of engineering designs.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant design codes and standards, including the SuDS Manual and DCG.

Requirements:

  • HNC or BEng Civil Engineering degree.
  • Consultancy/private sector development background with experience working on residential development.
  • Experience with drainage designs, strategies, and flood risk assessment for both private and adoptable works.
  • Experience in the production of technical drawings for tender and construction purposes for a variety of infrastructure projects.
  • Numerate and software literate, including experience and knowledge of Microdrainage and AutoCAD.
  • Experience in the legal, planning, and technical consent, adoption, and contract procedures for the design and implementation of drainage in new developments and regeneration projects, including S104.
