Job Title: Matron for Children's Services

We are seeking a highly motivated and clinically credible senior nurse to join our team as a Matron for Children's Services. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to nursing staff within a designated service line across Queen's and King George Hospitals, and other satellite sites.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and direction to nursing staff within a designated service line
  • Work in a service line triumvirate with the Clinical Lead and the Service Manager
  • Ensure provision of high quality, safe, well-governed, productive and cost-effective services
  • Practice at an advanced level demonstrating a high level of autonomy and decision-making
Requirements:
  • Registered General Nurse/Midwife on the Nursing and Midwifery Council
  • First level degree in nursing/midwifery or health care related subject
  • Substantial experience at Nurse/midwifery manager level
  • Demonstrable experience of effectively managing budgets
