Matron for Children's Acute Areas

Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust is seeking an experienced and dynamic nurse to join our team as a Matron for Children's Acute Areas. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and support our nursing staff in providing high-quality care to children and their families.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Reviewing and improving the skill mix and deployment of staff within the area of responsibility
- Ensuring rostering meets service demands and is cost-effective
- Overseeing recruitment processes and ensuring they are timely and effective
- Performance managing staff and conducting continuous performance reviews
- Supporting ward/departmental Nursing Clinical Leads in managing staff absence and reporting trends in sickness absence
- Empowering and enabling staff to perform their roles effectively

The ideal candidate will have:
- Registered and Practising Nurse qualification
- First Degree and Masters Degree or working towards
- Robust evidence of relevant CPD in the last 2 years
- At least 3 years' previous experience as a Gynaecology Manager/Matron
- Experience in budget management, business planning, change management, HR management, Child Protection, and track record of achieving change in clinical practice and organisation practice
