About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Transfer Practitioner to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW). As a Senior Transfer Practitioner, you will play a key role in the development, delivery, and monitoring of education and training within our Retrieve service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee the education and training within Retrieve, working closely with the Peninsula Senior Transfer Practitioner for education.
  • Identify educational requirements of Transfer practitioners, Transfer doctors, and Duty Consultants, delivering training and education.
  • Plan and deliver formal and informal specialized education programs within the Retrieve service.
  • Oversee the induction of new Transfer Practitioners and onboarding of new staff.
  • Lead in the planning and delivery of external outreach education.
  • Act as a resource to other clinical areas for their specialist field as well as other national services.
Requirements
  • Significant recent operational experience in the specialty of Intensive Care.
  • Significant and recent critical care experience with the ability to demonstrate.
  • Previous experience of change management and problem-solving.
  • Evidence of postgraduate specialist training to masters level or equivalent.
  • ALS provider.
  • Recent relevant experience with intra-hospital and inter-hospital transfer.
  • Evidence of recent teaching experience.
  • Portfolio of evidence showing achievements in practice/specialty.
  • Evidence of delivering teaching programs to staff groups.
  • Understanding of professional and current issues in critical care transfers.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Leadership Program or equivalent.
  • Evidence of presentations at local and regional level.
