About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Acute Medicine Specialist to join our team at Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our clinical team, you will play a vital role in the development and delivery of our innovative Geriatric Medicine services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development of our Geriatric Medicine inpatient and outpatient services
  • Contribute to the development of our clinical services and directly participate in acute and general medicine care, discharge planning, and outpatient clinics
  • Join the acute medical consultant on-call rota and receive support within the job plan for any specialty interests
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary ward-based team overseeing the care of patients
  • Develop and deliver clinical and non-clinical sessions, including but not limited to Orthogeriatrics, Perioperative medicine for older people undergoing surgery (POPS), Movement Disorder, Dementia, or acute medicine sessions
  • Participate in clinical audit and contribute to national audits and NCEPOD surveys
  • Develop and maintain a job plan that sets out your duties, responsibilities, and objectives for the coming year
