About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geriatric Medicine Specialist to join our team at Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHSFT. As a key member of our Care of the Elderly consultant team, you will play a vital role in the development of our innovative Geriatric Medicine inpatient and outpatient services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development of our Geriatric Medicine services, working closely with the clinical director and other team members.
  • Contribute to the provision of acute and general medicine care, discharge planning, and outpatient clinics.
  • Participate in the on-call rota and provide support within the job plan for any specialty interests.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary ward-based team, overseeing the care of patients and sharing responsibility for educational and clinical supervision of junior medical staff.
  • Develop and implement new services, working closely with the CBU Manager and Clinical Director.
Requirements
  • Specialist Register for Geriatric Medicine.
  • Experience working within a Frailty Assessment Unit (desirable).
  • Experience working as part of an on-call team.
  • Experience working within the NHS.
