Job Title: Consultant in Anaesthetics and Intensive Care

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Consultant in Anaesthetics and Intensive Care to join our team at Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS FT. As a Consultant, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a team of healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development of our intensive care unit.

About the Role
  • Provide expert clinical care to patients in the intensive care unit, including those requiring anaesthesia and critical care.
  • Lead a team of healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and other support staff, to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Contribute to the development of our intensive care unit, including the implementation of new policies and procedures.
  • Participate in clinical audit, governance, and quality improvement initiatives to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
  • Undertake and participate in the appraisal process and job planning to ensure the effective management of the team.
  • Actively participate in continuing medical education to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in anaesthetics and intensive care.

Requirements
  • Fellow of the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine.
  • On the specialist register for Intensive Care Medicine or within 6 months of being admitted to the register for trainees, if currently in a training programme in the UK.
  • High level of clinical experience and competence in all aspects of Intensive Care Medicine.
  • Understanding current issues within Intensive Care Medicine/Anaesthetics and the future direction of the specialty.
  • Wide-based experience in Intensive Care Medicine/Anaesthetics.
