Job Title: Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine to join our team at Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS FT. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Intensive Care Medicine and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

About the Role

The Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine will be responsible for providing expert care to critically ill patients, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes. The role will involve regular input into the intensive care unit, including out-of-hours on-call commitment, and will provide opportunities for additional daytime work in anaesthesia or one of the departments of the Medical Division.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide expert care to critically ill patients, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and guidelines.
  • Participate in clinical audit, governance, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Undertake and participate in the appraisal process and job planning.
  • Actively participate in continuing medical education.
  • Undertake personal appraisal and job-planning as part of revalidation.

Requirements
  • Fellow of the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine.
  • On the specialist register for Intensive Care Medicine or within 6 months of being admitted to the register for trainees, if currently in a training programme in the UK.
  • Strong background in Intensive Care Medicine and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.
