About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Health Care Assistant to join our team at Royal Star & Garter. As a Health Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our residents, ensuring their dignity, respect, and well-being are maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality personal and nursing care to residents, adhering to their individual needs and expectations.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary care team to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Successfully complete and practice the Royal Star & Garter HCA Competency Framework.
  • Participate in the Key Worker Scheme, supporting the role of the keyworker.
  • Support all aspects of resident care and wellbeing, promoting independence, decision-making, and respect.
  • Complete clinical activities, following training, including administering medication, tissue viability, and oral care.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of residents' holistic care needs.
  • Actively participate in and promote the wellbeing activities and outings of the Home's programme.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, visiting health professionals, and residents, ensuring accurate and relevant information exchange.
  • Strive to continuously improve resident safety, care, and well-being, sharing areas for improvement with the care team or line manager.

  • Strong commitment to nursing the elderly and providing high standards of care to enable residents to live their lives as fully and independently as possible.

Requirements
  • Willingness to work towards an appropriate competency-based qualification.
  • Physical fitness to carry out the duties of the role.
