The role of the Residential Childcare Officer is pivotal within our organization. Key Responsibilities
- Uphold the standards and expectations of Buckinghamshire Council, responding positively to the physical and emotional needs of the children.
- Collaborate with staff members and actively participate in meetings and training sessions.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and engaging environment for residential children.
- Assist in organizing and delivering planned evening activities.
- Contribute to the development and monitoring of individual care plans and relevant documentation.
- Record necessary information about children and liaise with families as appropriate.
- Support the transportation and supervision of children during off-site activities.
- Participate in the supervision and appraisal processes for residential staff.
- Undertake additional duties as reasonably requested by senior management.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 Qualification in Caring for Children and Young People or a willingness to pursue this qualification.
- Experience working in educational settings, particularly with children with special needs.
- Strong understanding of child welfare and safety protocols.
- Ability to foster positive relationships within the school community.
- Commitment to equality and diversity principles.

Contract Type: Permanent
Salary Type: Bucks pay
Salary Details: Range 1 - 2 ISN 6-15 £23,297 - £26,961 Pro Rata + Optional Sleep in Rate £34.50 Per Night
Hours: 4 – 8 hours per week (flexible/negotiable) with the option of sleeping in for 1 night also possible
