The Residential Childcare Officer plays a pivotal role in our organization, and we are in search of compassionate and resilient professionals who are eager to make a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable youth. Ideal candidates will possess a blend of professional expertise and personal attributes that enable them to be effective role models.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a safe and secure environment for young residents.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the emotional and physical needs of children are met.
- Assist in the development and implementation of engaging evening activities.
- Contribute to the creation and monitoring of individual care plans.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with families when necessary.
- Supervise and support children during off-site activities.
- Participate in staff training and development initiatives.
- Uphold the values and standards of Buckinghamshire Council in all interactions.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 Qualification in Caring for Children and Young People or a commitment to achieve this qualification.
- Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs, is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of child welfare and safety protocols.
- Ability to foster positive relationships within the school community.
- Excellent organizational skills and the capacity to work independently.
