Exciting Opportunity for a Support Specialist

Part-time position - 20 hours per week - Flexible Shift Patterns

Become a vital member of a growing support team dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals with autism. We are seeking both new and experienced staff to provide assistance to adults with autism in their daily activities, which may include engaging in recreational outings, swimming, and shopping. Comprehensive training is available to ensure you are well-prepared for this rewarding role.

The average starting salary for a Support Specialist is £24,840 annually (based on a 35-hour workweek, including one sleep-in shift per week at £60 per night). By increasing your hours to 41 per week, you can earn approximately £28,460 per year (including holiday pay). Many of our experienced staff members earn over £30,000 annually by taking on additional shifts.

About the Work Environment:

Our residential facility is designed to accommodate five adults with autism, offering a supportive and engaging atmosphere. Residents enjoy a variety of activities, including coastal walks, dining out, baking, and cycling. Our friendly and enthusiastic staff are eager to welcome a new colleague who shares their passion for creating enjoyable experiences.

Training and Development:

• Care Certificate (transferable evidenced certificate accepted)

Key Responsibilities of a Support Specialist:

• Drive a mobility vehicle (Manual License required)
• Support individuals exhibiting challenging behaviors and mental health concerns
• Facilitate community activities such as shopping and outdoor excursions
• Administer medications and assist with personal care
• Work independently and confidently
• Perform household management tasks including cooking and cleaning
• Maintain confidentiality and respect for individuals' dignity
• Manage finances for shopping and banking needs
• Collaborate with colleagues across various services
• Ensure accurate documentation of care provided
