Job Overview

Sodexo is seeking a skilled Mobile Cook to join our team at Maidstone, Medway, and surrounding areas. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will assist the Cook Manager in overseeing all aspects of food and beverage operations, ensuring exceptional service and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and present food to company standards, including breakfast, morning break, lunch, and hospitality.
  • Adhere to all company compliance, including food safety, health and safety, allergen awareness, COSHH, and HACCP regulations.
  • Carry out craft/skills training for catering staff.
  • Ensure all service counters and food are presented to company standards.
  • Guarantee each dish served is portioned according to business requirements.
  • Complete daily/weekly cleaning duties as instructed by the line manager, including food preparation and storage areas, catering communal areas, and removal of waste.
  • Deliver exceptionally high standards in customer service, cleanliness, tidiness, and operational activity.

Requirements:

  • Full UK driving license and own vehicle required for this role.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in hands-on cooking, training on food hygiene, and health and safety.
  • Expertise in cooking on a large scale, serving 100-1300 students.
  • Experience following recipes, possibly in a similar setting.
  • Experience working with fresh produce and ingredients.
  • Awareness of the importance of adhering to health and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines in a busy kitchen environment.
  • Professionalism, leading by example, and a positive outlook.
  • Basic food handling skills certification.

Package Details:

  • £ per hour.
  • 30 hours per week.
  • Working pattern: Monday-Friday, 8am-2pm.
  • Term-time only (39-week working contract paid over 52 weeks).
  • This position requires a driving license and access to a vehicle.
  • Must be able to travel to all sites.
  • Business car insurance required for this role.
