As a seasoned culinary professional, you will oversee all aspects of food and beverage operations, as well as financial management, for a school's kitchen. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the food and service standards are of the highest quality, and that the school catering is among the best in the region.
Your attitude and leadership skills will significantly impact your team's daily lives, fostering a vibrant and productive work environment. You will be responsible for managing the replenishment of food, dismantling work areas, and developing, mentoring, and conducting training for the kitchen team.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the complete catering operation, including labor, food, and stock expenses.
- Develop and implement menus, ensuring uniformity in food and service standards.
- Conduct routine audits to ensure standards are being followed.
- Manage and optimize all costs under your control.
- Lead by example, promoting a positive and professional work environment.
- Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
- Expertise in cooking for large groups, with experience following recipes and managing kitchen staff.
- Previous experience in staff supervision or line management.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures and food handling skills certification.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines in a busy kitchen environment.
