EMBS Engineering is on the lookout for a talented Senior VOIP Engineer to join our esteemed client, a thriving Managed Service Provider (MSP) located in Reading.

Our client has experienced a remarkable 20% growth in revenue over the past year, prompting the expansion of their team to accommodate the rising demand for their exceptional IT and VOIP services.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a proficient Senior VOIP Engineer with extensive experience in developing and maintaining VOIP solutions, especially with platforms like 3CX. However, candidates with backgrounds in other reputable VOIP systems, such as Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Avaya IP Office, Mitel MiVoice, or Asterisk, will also be considered.

The role encompasses a range of infrastructure responsibilities, ensuring uninterrupted communication for clients through the installation, support, and upkeep of VOIP systems and associated IT infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate across various regions, including the south and London.
  • Design, implement, and manage on-premise, cloud, and hosted VOIP systems, with a focus on 3CX or other platforms like Cisco CUCM, Avaya IP Office, Mitel MiVoice, or Asterisk.
  • Set up and configure gateways, LAN switches, and voice equipment tailored to client specifications.
  • Provide technical assistance to resolve network and connectivity challenges, ensuring consistent and effective communication.
  • Conduct client site visits for proactive maintenance and to guarantee optimal system performance.
  • Manage and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows Servers, Desktop OS, Microsoft 365, and related technologies.

Technical Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in a senior or comparable field-based role within an MSP environment.
  • Strong knowledge of VOIP solutions, particularly 3CX or other VOIP systems like Cisco CUCM, Avaya IP Office, Mitel MiVoice, or Asterisk.
  • Familiarity with HP/Aruba Networking and Ruckus WIFI is a plus, although similar technologies will also be considered.
  • Proficient in networking protocols, including OSPF, BGP, VLANs, and others.
  • Knowledge of Watchguard, Fortigate, and Meraki firewalls is advantageous.
  • Experience with server infrastructure, including Windows HyperV, Citrix, and VMWare.
  • An IT-related degree or equivalent experience is highly desirable.
