EMBS Engineering is on the lookout for a proficient Senior VOIP Engineer to join our dynamic team. We are a thriving Managed Service Provider (MSP) based in Reading, experiencing significant growth with a remarkable 20% increase in turnover over the past year.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a talented Senior VOIP Engineer with extensive experience in designing and supporting VOIP solutions, particularly with systems like 3CX. Candidates with experience in other reputable VOIP platforms such as Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Avaya IP Office, Mitel MiVoice, or Asterisk will also be considered.

The position entails engaging in various infrastructure tasks, ensuring uninterrupted communication for clients through the installation, support, and maintenance of VOIP systems and associated IT infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate across the southern regions and London.
  • Design, install, and maintain on-premise, cloud, and hosted VOIP systems, including 3CX or alternative platforms like Cisco CUCM, Avaya IP Office, Mitel MiVoice, or Asterisk.
  • Install and configure gateways, LAN switches, and voice equipment tailored to client requirements.
  • Provide technical support to address network and connectivity challenges, ensuring efficient communication.
  • Conduct client site visits for proactive maintenance and optimal system performance.
  • Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows Servers, Desktop OS, Microsoft 365, and related technologies.

Technical Expertise:
  • Demonstrated experience in a senior or similar field-based role within an MSP environment.
  • Strong knowledge of VOIP solutions, focusing on 3CX or other VOIP systems like Cisco CUCM, Avaya IP Office, Mitel MiVoice, or Asterisk.
  • Familiarity with HP/Aruba Networking and Ruckus WIFI is advantageous, though experience with similar technologies will also be considered.
  • Proficient in networking protocols, including OSPF, BGP, VLANs, and others.
  • Knowledge of Watchguard, Fortigate, and Meraki firewalls is beneficial.
  • Experience with server infrastructure, including Windows HyperV, Citrix, and VMWare.
  • An IT-related degree or equivalent experience is highly desirable.
