Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Privacy & Data Protection Counsel to join our growing legal team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring that Kyndryl complies with all applicable privacy and data protection laws and regulations globally. You will provide expert advice on a wide range of legal matters related to data privacy, including:

  • Developing and implementing privacy policies and procedures
  • Conducting privacy impact assessments (PIAs)
  • Responding to data subject requests
  • Managing data breach incidents
  • Advising on contractual arrangements, such as data processing agreements (DPAs) and vendor contracts, from the perspective of a data controller, data processor, procurer of products and services, and partner ecosystems

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and guidance on all aspects of privacy and data protection law to internal stakeholders across various business units.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements involving the processing of personal data, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with global privacy laws and standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for mitigating privacy risks.
  • Stay abreast of changes in privacy legislation and best practices.
  • Collaborate with other legal team members, business units, and external stakeholders on privacy-related matters.

Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school or equivalent international law degree.
  • Experience performing privacy and other risk assessments, including an understanding of associated technologies and offerings.
  • Strong written and oral communication, analytic and project management skills.
  • Manage and lead multi-stakeholder project teams and provide proactive advice in a creative and business-centric way.
  • Demonstrated business judgment and proven ability to work as part of diverse and multi-cultural teams of both legal and business colleagues.

Preferred Experience

  • Certification in privacy, cybersecurity, audit and/or related fields (e.g., IAPP CIPM, CIPP-US, CIPP-EU, CISSP, CISA and/or PCI QSA).
  • Additional language(s) would be an advantage.
