Recreational Activities Facilitator

Role Overview:
As a Recreational Activities Facilitator, your role transcends mere event planning; it is about delivering care and support to individuals facing significant challenges in their lives.
In this part-time position, you will collaborate with the team at Elysium Healthcare to foster an engaging activity-based environment. Your technical and creative abilities will be essential in developing, executing, and managing programs centered on social, recreational, and leisure pursuits.
You will play a crucial role in establishing both individual and group connections with service users, tailoring activities to enhance participation. Your planning will prioritize their unique interests and needs, aligning with their treatment objectives.
Working in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team, you will build relationships with community resources to facilitate service users' involvement in local events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organizing social and recreational initiatives for service users within a secure setting.
- Gathering insights from service users about their interests in social and recreational activities.
- Monitoring and reporting on the behavior, capabilities, and responses of service users through both verbal and written communication.
- Documenting observations and progress under supervision in clinical records.
- Adhering to security protocols and service policies.
- Conducting basic risk assessments for individuals and groups on a daily basis.
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and security standards for service users, staff, and visitors.
- Utilizing effective coordination skills and resource management.
Qualifications:
- Fundamental group work skills.
- Experience in a mental health environment is desirable.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Self-motivation and initiative.
- Understanding of mental health issues and their effects on functioning.
- Problem-solving skills with a solution-focused mindset.
- Organizational abilities.
- Awareness of gender-specific and cultural needs of service users.
- A valid UK Driver's License.
