Electrical Maintenance Technician

An exciting opportunity has emerged for an Electrical Maintenance Technician to become a vital part of our team at Recruit Mint. This position involves working on a permanent basis with a structured shift pattern. The primary responsibility will be to ensure the maintenance and repair of essential process equipment, guaranteeing that all machinery operates reliably and efficiently to enhance overall plant performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain high standards of upkeep to meet production performance objectives
  • Provide electrical setup and support for production activities
  • Diagnose and rectify equipment breakdowns
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks
  • Assist in the fabrication and installation of plant machinery under guidance

Candidate Profile

  • Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship (City and Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent)
  • Experience in maintaining production equipment within a varied manufacturing setting
  • Strong electrical bias
  • Excellent troubleshooting abilities
  • Background in electrical and mechanical maintenance
  • Experience in extrusion processes is advantageous
  • Higher qualifications (e.g., ONC/HNC) or relevant experience
  • Proficient in computer systems related to maintenance management

Work Schedule

The successful candidate will initially undergo training during day shifts before transitioning to a defined shift pattern. The annual working hours total 1758, which includes a combination of 12-hour shifts and training sessions.

The typical shift arrangement includes:

  • 2 day shifts
    • 6:45 AM to 7:00 PM
  • 2 night shifts
    • 6:45 PM to 7:00 AM
  • 6 days off

We strive to provide at least two weeks' notice for any changes to the scheduled roster. Holiday entitlement is integrated into the time off, allowing for shift swaps to facilitate additional time away.
