Senior Manager, Digital Risk and Security

The Senior Manager, Digital Risk, plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the integrity of Dow Jones' newsrooms and executive teams from digital threats. This position requires a deep understanding of the editorial activities of newsrooms, relevant editorial standards, and practices, as well as the digital risks they face.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and mitigate digital risks faced by newsrooms and executives, developing strategies and policies to address these threats.
- Engage with a broad range of stakeholders, including customers, partners, and internal teams, to ensure that digital risk management aligns with editorial and business objectives.
- Analyze digital risk intelligence to inform editorial activities, executive strategies, and operational plans.
- Develop and deliver digital risk mitigation and management training packages to newsroom and executive teams.
- Create, implement, and maintain digital risk policies, procedures, guidelines, standards, and best practices.
- Identify and implement tools to tackle digital risk, working with digital and cyber experts, newsrooms, and executives.
- Provide digital-risk input to the assessment of editorial activities and act as the digital risk subject matter expert during responses to incidents.
- A deep passion for the business of news and truth in an increasingly unstable world.
- An understanding of editorial activities, relevant editorial standards, and practices, as well as digital risks faced by newsrooms.
- Proven communications technology experience and knowledge of best practices when it comes to securing communications.
- An interest in global events and a good understanding of how social, political, environmental, economic, and conflict dynamics can affect digital risk.
- The ability to balance theoretical security ideals with practicalities and realities of editorial and executive activities.
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to understand complex situations and provide unique solutions.
- Passion for solving complex problems and building scalable processes.
- A collegial, dynamic, and proactive approach with a desire for continuous learning, development, and career growth.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to brief and influence effectively.
