Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Commercial Procurement Buyer to join our team in Derby. As a Commercial Procurement Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing procurement to meet the company's operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams to identify and plan procurement activities.
  • Manage tender processes, including documentation, supplier negotiations, and relationship management.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring they are accountable for meeting continuous improvement and productivity targets.
  • Monitor procurement progress and provide updates on active projects.
  • Provide support to the team in managing processes, cross-functional training, and risk management.
  • Generate management reports, information, and analytics for decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Strong background in commercial and procurement frameworks, with proven process improvement skills.
  • Self-starter with expertise in Procurement and Category Management; knowledge of financial management is a plus.
  • Experience in building and managing key supplier relationships.
  • Ability to develop and implement comprehensive category strategies and strategic sourcing opportunities.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a history of delivering cost savings.
  • Proficient in supplier categorisation, performance management, and the sourcing lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel; experience with bid writing software is desirable.
