Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Design Manager to join our Store Construction Design Team in our Head Office. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for creating and managing the GB Corporate Building Specifications, liaising with internal stakeholders and external design consultants.
Key Responsibilities:- Design Team Collaboration: Work closely with the design team to develop and implement design strategies for store construction projects.
- Stakeholder Management: Liaise with internal stakeholders, including senior management and external design consultants, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Contractor and Supplier Management: Develop and maintain relationships with external contractors and suppliers to ensure high-quality design services.
- Cost Analysis and Evaluation: Conduct detailed and accurate cost analysis and evaluations of design proposals to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Quality Control: Implement quality control procedures to achieve high-quality standards across all construction sites.
- Presentations and Reporting: Deliver presentations to senior management and other internal stakeholders as required.
- Project Management: Manage ad-hoc project plans, budgets, and deadlines to ensure timely completion.
- Education: Degree-level education in Architecture, Design Management, or Civil Engineering.
- Experience: Relevant practical design management/co-ordination experience.
- Skills: Strong commercial acumen, eye for detail, and Microsoft Office skills.
- Travel: Willingness to travel within the UK frequently, including overnight stays where required.
- Language: German speaking is advantageous but not essential.
