Senior Underwriter, Wholesale Marine Cargo Specialist

About the Role:
The Senior Underwriter, Wholesale Marine Cargo position is a newly created role within Aviva's Marine team, responsible for driving the continued success and growth of our marine cargo business. This role sits within a team of experienced underwriters, writing wholesale cargo business from a global perspective.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality underwriting decisions, ensuring the volume, quality, and profitability of growth opportunities meet business targets.
- Build and maintain relationships with brokers and customers worldwide, including some travel.
- Accountable for the performance and development of assigned risks, meeting plan targets for metrics such as GWP, NWP, Loss Ratio, Expense Ratio, and Combined Ratio.
- Exercise case-by-case judgment to ensure overall strategy and governance targets are met.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in underwriting and handling London market wholesale cargo and stock throughput business.
- Strong track record of underwriting a portfolio for a London Market/Lloyd's Marine account, including understanding metrics required to monitor such a portfolio.
- Well-regarded by major London market brokers, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Results-oriented and able to plan and prioritize effectively.
