About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainability Assistant to join our National Supply Chain Management department at Aldi UK. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of our Global Sustainability Strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the National Supply Chain Manager in developing and implementing projects to reduce Aldi's operational environmental impact.
  • Monitor and measure progress of internal and external sustainability trials and activities across Aldi UK and Ireland.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient and accurate flow of information.
  • Develop and communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner to various audiences.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to reduce operational carbon emissions and develop initiatives to achieve this goal.
  • Stay up-to-date with market-wide technological advances and competitor activity in the relevant areas of Sustainability.
  • Prepare and present reports and documentation to communicate the team's work and projects.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of Sustainability, Sustainability in Transport Emissions, Logistics and Supply Chain.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues at all levels.
  • Ability to manage a varied workload, conflicting deadlines, and multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Organisational skills with the ability to identify and manage priorities.
  • Detail-oriented and able to investigate and analyse challenges to offer solutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word.
  • Desirable experience in Sustainability Supply Chain, retail, and sustainability for transport.
What We Offer
  • Starting salary from £36,080 - £42,135.
  • Monday - Friday 8am to 4:30pm, with the opportunity of 2 days a week remote working.
