About the Role

The Chelmsford City Council is seeking a Private Sector Housing Assistant to provide support to the Private Sector Housing Officer in acquiring private owned homes to help the Council meet its duties to those at risk of homelessness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and IT support to the Private Sector Housing Officer
  • Communicate effectively with a wide range of people from all sectors of the community
  • Work collaboratively with the Council's Strategic Housing Service to achieve its objectives
  • Travel frequently around and beyond the district to meet with stakeholders and conduct site visits

Requirements

  • Good knowledge and experience of working in the housing/property sector
  • Excellent communication and administrative skills
  • Ability to work in a front-line, customer-facing role
  • Flexibility to work a 37-hour week with a flexible working pattern
