Role Overview

The Private Sector Housing Assistant will provide critical support to the Private Sector Housing Officer, focusing on acquiring private-owned homes to meet the Council's duties to those at risk of homelessness. This role requires excellent communication skills, a good knowledge of the housing/property sector, and experience working in a front-line, customer-facing role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Private Sector Housing Officer in acquiring private-owned homes
  • Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including private landlords and tenants
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key partners and stakeholders
  • Provide administrative and IT support to the team
  • Travel frequently around and beyond the district to meet with stakeholders and conduct site visits
