We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Hospitality Assistant at Gradwell Retirement Village in South Chailey, Lewes.

About the Role:

As a Hospitality Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our residents receive exceptional service during meal times. Your primary responsibility will be to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere, ensuring that every resident feels valued and cared for.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet Residents with a Smile: Greet residents warmly as they arrive at the dining area, making them feel welcome and at ease.
  • Assist with Seating and Menus: Assist residents with seating and provide menus, ensuring that they have everything they need to enjoy their meal.
  • Take Orders and Serve Meals: Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently, serving meals and beverages in a timely manner.
  • Ensure Dietary Needs are Met: Ensure that residents' dietary preferences and restrictions are accommodated, providing a personalized experience for each resident.
  • Clear Tables and Reset: Clear tables and reset them for the next service, maintaining a clean and organized dining area.
  • Provide Excellent Service: Provide friendly and attentive service to residents throughout their meal, ensuring that every interaction is positive and enjoyable.
  • Collaborate with Kitchen Staff: Collaborate with kitchen staff and other waitstaff to ensure smooth operation of the dining area, working together as a team to deliver exceptional service.
  • Handle Concerns with Care: Handle residents' concerns or special requests with professionalism and courtesy, resolving issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Maintain a Clean and Organized Environment: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area, ensuring that the environment is safe and welcoming for residents.

Requirements:

  • Previous Experience: Previous experience in a hospitality setting or in a customer service role is preferred, but not essential.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role, as you will be interacting with residents and colleagues on a daily basis.
  • Ability to Multitask: Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing your time effectively.
  • Strong Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail is required, ensuring that every resident's needs are met and every interaction is positive.
  • Compassionate and Patient Demeanour: A compassionate and patient demeanour is essential for this role, as you will be working with residents who may have varying needs and requirements.
  • Knowledge of Food Safety: Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines is required, ensuring that the dining area is safe and clean for residents.
