Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Principal Planner to lead our Development Management team in King's Lynn & West Norfolk. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a team of planners, providing expert advice on development management, and making decisions on complex planning applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of planners in the development management process, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Provide expert advice on development management, including policy and legislative requirements.
  • Make decisions on complex planning applications, taking into account the needs of the community and the borough.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve the borough's development management objectives.
  • Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.

Requirements:

  • Chartered status with the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
  • At least five years of post-qualification experience in development management, with a proven track record of leading teams and making complex decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and the public.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
