Technical Superintendent (Cruise) – Permanent – Competitive Package
This is an excellent opportunity to join a global shipping company based in their office.
You will be responsible for the efficient operations of the ships assigned to you and work as a member of the ship management team. You will operate and maintain ship equipment in a safe, economic, and efficient way.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the technical performance of vessels, including well intervention equipment, and oversee technical budgets.
- Act as the on-shore contact point for vessels in day-to-day operations related to technical management and mobilization activities. Collaborate with the Owner in day-to-day operations, as defined and agreed with the Fleet Manager.
- Ensure vessels operate in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Verify that statutory and classification surveys for all plant and equipment on vessels are carried out.
- Implement preventive and corrective maintenance to prevent technical/operational non-conformities that may lead to downtime.
- Contribute to the improvement of the maintenance system by providing feedback to the Fleet Manager.
- Plan, control, and execute all activities connected with maintenance, repairs, dry-docking, conversion, or modification of assigned vessels.
- Plan, control, and execute all activities connected to class and flag state survey and certificate requirements. Establish effective liaison with relevant authorities.
Required Experience:
- Recognized Engineering (Chief/2nd engineer unlimited license) or Naval Architecture qualification and/or relevant experience at sea.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and English language skills.
- Previous experience as a Technical Superintendent in a Leisure/Cruise Technical Department.
- Financial understanding and some experience in administering budgets.
- Diesel Electric and Podded Drive experience (desirable).
- Knowledge of Complex Automation systems either in the Shore management or experience.
Candidates must have the right to work in the UK to be considered.
