About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shipping Manager to join our team at AVASK Accounting & Business Consultants. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering shipping strategy and daily operations, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction and compliance with UK legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foster Strong Client Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring innovative solutions and compliance with UK legislation.
  • Work with Service Partners: Collaborate with service partners to ensure required service levels are met and client service levels are maintained.
  • Review Pricing Strategies: Conduct regular reviews of pricing strategies and analyze profit margins to maintain competitiveness.
  • Participate in Daily Operations: Participate actively in the day-to-day operations for shipping, import/export, and freight forwarding requirements.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure appropriate controls are in place, design out risk of error, and ensure procedures are fully implemented.
  • Support Business Development: Support the business development and marketing initiatives for freight forwarding, shipping, and import/export services.
  • Identify and Drive Leads: Identify and drive leads to the business, ensuring high levels of successful engagement.
  • Support Leadership: Support leadership in defining function and objectives, strategy, and executing initiatives.
  • Assist in Cross-Functional Process Analysis: Assist in cross-functional process analysis and development of effective policies and procedures for the UK office.
  • Gather and Analyze Data: Gather, analyze, and interpret external and internal data, and write reports.
  • Deliver Exceptional Customer Service: Deliver exceptional levels of customer service to both internal and external customers.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • Proven Experience: Proven experience as a Shipping Manager or similar role.
  • Solid Knowledge: Solid knowledge of shipping, import/export, and freight forwarding procedures.
  • Experience with Financial Reports: Experience with preparing financial reports, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Strong Quantitative Skills: Strong quantitative, problem-solving, and communications skills are required.
  • Ability to Prioritize: Ability to set priorities, multi-task, meet critical deadlines, and pay attention to detail.
  • Highly Organized: Highly organized and motivated self-starter with good interpersonal communication skills.
