Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Shipping Operations Manager to join our team at AVASK Accounting & Business Consultants. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional shipping strategies and daily operations.

About the Role:

  • Foster strong relationships with clients, ensuring innovative solutions and compliance with UK legislation.
  • Work closely with Service Partners to ensure high service levels and client satisfaction.
  • Review pricing strategies and conduct profit margin analysis to maintain competitiveness.
  • Participate actively in day-to-day operations for shipping, import/export, and freight forwarding requirements.
  • Implement controls to minimize errors and ensure procedures are fully implemented.
  • Support business development and marketing initiatives for freight forwarding, shipping, and import/export services.
  • Identify and drive leads to the business, ensuring high levels of successful engagement.
  • Support leadership in defining function and objectives, strategy, and executing initiatives.
  • Assist in cross-functional process analysis and development of effective policies and procedures for the UK office.
  • Analyze and interpret external and internal data, writing reports.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Contribute to the development of software systems to deliver business efficiencies and improved customer experience.

Requirements:

  • Strong commercial awareness and experience in shipping operations.
  • Proven experience as a Shipping Manager or similar role.
  • Knowledge of shipping, import/export, and freight forwarding procedures.
  • Experience with financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Strong Excel skills and quantitative, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to set priorities, multitask, meet deadlines, and pay attention to detail.
  • Highly organized and motivated self-starter with good interpersonal communication skills.
