Engineering Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Operations Manager to join our team at Thames Water. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for delivering all capital projects to budget, ensuring turnover is managed in line with forecast.
Key Responsibilities- Project Delivery: Lead and manage the delivery of all capital projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Procurement and Labour Management: Manage the procurement process and direct and indirect labour requirements to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.
- Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and develop a multi-disciplined team of Project Managers and Project Delivery Engineers, reviewing performance and monitoring resource mix to meet predicted workload.
- Commercial Management: Ensure effective flow and input of commercial information to meet financial deadlines of the business.
- Client Management: Manage client site requirements to ensure minimal impact on operational functionality of the site.
- Regulatory Compliance: Deliver all projects within legislative and regulatory requirements, including Health & Safety, Environmental compliance, and HR responsibilities.
- Health and Safety: Ensure Health and Safety is at the heart of everything done and develop a strong Health and Safety culture.
- Business Systems: Maintain, deliver, and develop ISO 9000, 14000, and 18000 business systems.
- Stakeholder Management: Manage multiple stakeholders, developing sustainable, long-lasting relationships across all areas of the internal business and supply chain.
- Proven Track Record: Have a proven track record in the delivery of site-based construction projects within the water industry.
- Operational Management: Have an operational management background in water or a similar process-related industry.
- Project Management Qualification: Hold an industry-recognised project management qualification.
- Health and Safety Qualification: Hold a relevant Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH or similar).
- Commercial Experience: Have sound experience in managing commercial budgets.
- Team Management: Have proven experience in managing a large team in person and remotely.
- Leadership Style: Demonstrate an inclusive, motivational leadership style and strong interpersonal skills.
- Problem-Solving: Have an innovative and proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Personality: Possess a tenacious and resilient personality with the ability to work with confidence in a challenging, reactive environment.
- Transport: Hold a full UK driving licence and have your own transport.
- Competitive Salary: Competitive salary between £62,000 - £74,000 per annum.
- Annual Leave: 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with the length of service (plus bank holidays).
- Car Allowance: Car allowance of £5,800 per annum.
