We are seeking a highly skilled Service Manager to lead our service office in Reading, working with a client specializing in Heat Pumps and Air Conditioning Systems.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Management:
- Oversee daily operations of service engineers and support staff, ensuring high standards of work and addressing team welfare.
- Manage resource gaps, conduct yearly appraisals, and support career development.
- Approve holiday and sickness requests, liaising with HR.
Client Requests:
- Handle client requests, new inquiries, RFIs, quotations, and complaints, providing timely resolutions.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients, ensuring their needs are met.
Revenue & Maintenance Contracts:
- Achieve revenue budget and maintain a 25% margin, growing the maintenance contract base by 10% annually.
- Ensure timely and accurate renewal of maintenance contracts.
Health & Safety:
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety protocols, promoting documented risk assessments and reporting accidents.
- Ensure engineers have the necessary equipment and tools.
Housekeeping & Fleet Management:
- Maintain good housekeeping in the office, workshop, and warehouse, overseeing depot engineer fleet vehicles.
- Conduct regular checks and meetings to ensure standards are met.
Meetings & Training:
- Run toolbox talk meetings with service engineers, arranging and authorizing training courses.
- Attend quarterly service management meetings.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning industry, with technical knowledge of air conditioning and chiller systems.
- Leadership and management experience, strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Commercial awareness and contract tendering experience, IT proficiency.
Key Competencies:
- Results-driven, strong team player, customer-focused with strong problem-solving skills.
- Leadership and employee engagement abilities, strong time management and adaptability to change.
- Relationship building and influencing skills.
