About the Role

Moston is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Manager to join our team. As a Commercial Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing change in accordance with NEC-based contracts related to the design of project works.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Change Management Process
    • Develop and implement effective change management strategies to ensure timely issuance and response to formal contract notices.
    • Collaborate with the client and contractor's supply chain to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Contract Administration
    • Administer contracts, including the use of CEMAR, to ensure compliance with NEC-based contracts.
    • Manage access to systems and assign permissions and authorities to staff as agreed with senior management.
  • Commercial Risk Management
    • Identify and mitigate commercial risks associated with contract changes.
    • Develop and implement strategies to minimize financial losses and maximize opportunities.
  • Team Leadership
    • Mentor and manage junior staff, including apprentices, to foster their development and career progression.
    • Provide regular and accurate reporting and forecasting to senior management.
Requirements
  • Essential Qualifications
    • BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
    • Membership of RICS, ICE, or CIOB.
  • Essential Experience/Skills
    • Comprehensive knowledge of NEC contracts.
    • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
    • Excellent written English, with strong skills in drafting contractual communications.
    • Team player with the ability to work within an integrated team.
    • Strong IT skills, particularly with web-based software, Excel, and databases.
  • Desirable Experience/Skills
    • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
    • Experience in managing and leading individuals and teams.
    • Strategic thinking in the context of change management.
    • Expertise in managing and reporting on commercial risk and opportunities.
    • Results-oriented with a focus on achieving targets.
    • Experience in managing client and supplier relationships.
    • Awareness of business and customer needs.
    • Proven track record in contributing to and leading efforts to achieve organizational goals.
    • Ability to drive operational efficiency and automate processes.
    • Skilled in managing opportunities and mitigating threats.
