HGV Workshop Supervisor Job Description

Kemp Recruitment is seeking an experienced HGV Workshop Supervisor to lead our client's internal fleet maintenance team in Coventry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the repair and maintenance of a fleet of circa 70 commercial vehicles, including tractor units, trailers, skip loaders, and front loaders.
  • Manage workshop operations, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to industry standards.
  • Coordinate with the Workshop Manager to prioritize repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Lead a team of HGV Technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality workmanship.
  • Conduct regular inspections and pre-MOT checks to identify and address potential issues.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and optimize vehicle availability.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as an HGV Workshop Supervisor or HGV Technician with a strong background in fleet maintenance.
  • Industry-recognized qualifications (NVQ or City & Guilds) or time-served experience.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Full UK driving license.
