Job Summary:

The Settlement Officer will be responsible for managing the flow of cash in and out of the company, liaising with other finance centers and entities to ensure smooth cash and funding requirements. The ideal candidate will have native-level Mandarin language skills, experience in settlement and clearing, and a strong understanding of treasury operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cash Management: Report and manage the flow of cash in and out of the company, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Collation and Processing: Collate and process all treasury payments, ensuring that instructions are complete, compliant, and accurate.
  • Loan and Deposit Management: Book and reconcile loans and loan positions with house banks, ensuring that loan rates and maturities are correct.
  • Debtors and Creditors Reporting: Identify and report on late payments and outstanding funds, ensuring that all discrepancies are resolved promptly.
  • Ad Hoc Queries: Respond to ad hoc queries from banks, clients, and internal stakeholders, ensuring that all issues are resolved efficiently.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Maintain accurate banking SSI's and signatory lists, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Data Management: Ensure that all data on the in-house OTS system is accurate and up-to-date, maintaining a high level of data integrity.

Requirements:

  • Language Skills: Fluency in Mandarin and English (spoken and written)
  • Experience: Proven experience working in a settlement or treasury department, preferably in a major bank or commodity house
  • Education: Degree-level or equivalent in Economics, Finance, Business Management, or related field
  • Skills: Strong IT skills, good working knowledge of MS Office products, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organizational Skills: Proven ability to prioritize work, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
