Job Title: Mandarin Speaking Settlement Officer

At First People Recruitment, we are seeking a highly skilled Mandarin speaking Settlement Officer to join our team in London.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cash management – Reporting flow of cash in and out of the company, liaising with other finance centres and entities accordingly.
  • Collating of all Treasury payments to be made on any given day.
  • Checking and processing of payment instructions, sending signed instructions to banks via fax or electronic means.
  • Booking and reconciling of loans and loan positions with house banks, ensuring loan rates and maturities are correct.
  • Dealing with ad hoc queries, including SWIFT requests, bank audit letters, returned payments, and unallocated receipts.
  • Advising the Treasury Manager of any issues with banks, such as loan rates being too high or banks not processing payments.
  • Capturing and maintaining banking SSI's from counterparties for compliance reasons.
  • Maintaining bank mandates and signatory lists as required.
  • Ensuring data on the in-house OTS system is accurately and timely input and maintained.

Requirements:

  • Fluency in Mandarin and English, both spoken and written.
  • Experience working in the settlement or treasury department of a major bank or commodity house.
  • Proven experience working in a Treasury department.
  • Degree level or equivalent in Economics, Finance, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Strong IT skills with good working knowledge of MS Office products.
  • Awareness of issues and sanctions regarding the worldwide remittance of funds.
  • Proven organisational and planning skills.
