Mandarin Settlements Officer

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing business area in finance and energy, where you will be utilizing your previous Settlements experience. You will be part of a prestigious company with strong relationships across 100 countries and regions, and will be expected to make a significant impact from the outset.

About the Role

This is a key appointment, and you will be reporting to the Senior Manager in London with a functional reporting line to Head Office in Hong Kong. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Cash management - Reporting flow of cash in and out of the company, liaising with other international finance teams
  • Collating of Treasury payments
  • Advising Treasury on issues such as loan rates too high/banks not processing payments etc
  • Checking/Processing of payment instructions
  • Booking/Reconciling of loans/loan positions with house banks
  • Managing SWIFT requests, Bank Audit Letters, Returned Payments/Unallocated Receipts, Bank statement reconciliation against in-house systems/payment instructions.
  • Producing Debtors/Creditors reports to identify where payments have not been made on time/funds have not been received on due date.
  • Capture and maintain banking information for compliance reasons
  • Awareness of issues/sanctions regarding the worldwide remittance of funds
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience of working in the settlement or treasury department of a major bank or commodity house
  • Fluent in Mandarin & English
