Ecological Consultant Opportunity

INCA Ltd (Industry Nature Conservation Association Ltd) is seeking an experienced Ecological Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring good ecological outcomes within a complex of SPA bird designations, SSSI saltmarsh and dune communities, and other habitats.

We are looking for a skilled and experienced ecologist who can lead ecological projects through planning, complete Habitat Regulations Assessments, and deal with designated sites legislation. Your excellent communication skills and ability to cultivate relationships will be essential in this role.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject and good ecological field skills covering a range of protected species and habitats, including UK Habs, BNG, and HRA. You will also have a sound understanding of the legislative and planning policy framework as it relates to ecology and nature conservation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead ecological projects through planning

  • Contribute to the development of ecological policies and procedures
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject
  • Good ecological field skills covering a range of protected species and habitats
  • Sound understanding of the legislative and planning policy framework as it relates to ecology and nature conservation
  • Ability to write concise, high-quality technical reports
  • Experience in Habitats Regulations Assessment and Biodiversity Net Gain
  • Experience of writing fee proposals, project management, and client liaison
