We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Ecologist to join our team at INCA Ltd (Industry Nature Conservation Association Ltd). As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring good ecological outcomes within a complex of SPA bird designations, SSSI saltmarsh and dune communities, alongside habitats ranging from ancient woodland and previously developed open mosaic habitats, to intertidal mudflats and species rich meadows.
About the Role- Lead ecological projects through planning, completing Habitat Regulations Assessments, UK Habitats classifications for BNG, and dealing with designated sites legislation.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry, regulators, and other local environmental organizations.
- Contribute to the development of our ecological services, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and expertise.
- Collaborate with our team to deliver high-quality ecological reports, proposals, and project management services.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject.
- Good ecological field skills covering a range of protected species and habitats, including UK Habs, BNG, and HRA.
- A sound understanding of the legislative and planning policy framework as it relates to ecology and nature conservation.
- The ability to write concise, high-quality, technical reports in line with CIEEM guidelines.
- Experience in Habitats Regulations Assessment and Biodiversity Net Gain.
- Experience of writing fee proposals, project management, and client liaison.
- Good commercial awareness.
- BSBI FISC (Level 3 or above).
