About the Role

Campden BRI is a leading research and development organization in the food and drink industry, providing expertise and services to ensure the safety and quality of food and drink products. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Analytical Chemist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the effective operation and utilization of resources and facilities within the metals/minerals team.
  • Deliver high-quality analytical services in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Report certificates in line with ISO17025 requirements.
  • Perform technical operations required within a specific process and/or laboratory area, and provide practical assistance to colleagues by supporting and/or partaking in the preparation, analysis, and testing of test items, instruments, and samples.
  • Design and develop methodology using ICP, HPLC, or LCMS for a range of analysis for food and drink when required.
  • Respond to client enquiries relating to testing within the group.
  • Conduct work in compliance with all relevant policies, rules, methods, procedures, and instructions, and/or in accordance with specific and agreed project, study, or work plans.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in the field of analytical science.
  • Good knowledge of food science and technology.
  • Good understanding and experience of ICP-MS/OES, HPLC, or LCMS appropriate to the investigation of issues relevant to the food and allied industries.
  • Experience as a test signatory under an ISO17025 quality management system.
  • Flexibility to work on multiple tasks and manage priorities.
  • Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven effectiveness in managing timely and cost-effective delivery of technical services/research outputs.
