About the Role

Campden BRI is a leading research and development organization in the food and drink industry, providing expertise to ensure the safety and quality of food and drink products. We are seeking an experienced Analytical Chemist to join our team as a Senior Analyst - Chemistry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the effective operation and utilization of resources and facilities within the metals/minerals team.
  • Deliver high-quality analytical services in a timely and efficient manner, meeting the needs of our clients in the food and allied industries.
  • Report certificates in accordance with ISO 17025 requirements, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Perform technical operations, including the preparation, analysis, and testing of test items, instruments, and samples, and provide practical assistance to colleagues as needed.
  • Design and develop methodologies using ICP, HPLC, or LCMS for a range of analyses in food and drink, as required.
  • Respond to client inquiries related to testing within the group, providing expert advice and guidance.
  • Conduct work in accordance with relevant policies, rules, methods, procedures, and instructions, and/or specific project plans.
Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent experience in analytical science.
  • Good knowledge of food science and technology.
  • Experience with ICP-MS/OES, HPLC, or LCMS, relevant to the investigation of issues in the food and allied industries.
  • Experience as a test signatory under an ISO 17025 quality management system.
  • Flexibility to work on multiple tasks and manage priorities effectively.
  • Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven ability to manage timely and cost-effective delivery of technical services and research outputs.
