About the Role
We are looking for a talented individual to deliver robust and efficient analytical services within our metals/minerals team. As a Senior Analytical Chemist, you will be responsible for ensuring the provision of relevant and cost-effective services to the food and allied industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management
- Ensure the effective operation and utilization of resources and facilities.
- Technical Operations
- Perform technical operations required within a specific process and/or laboratory area.
- Provide practical assistance to colleagues by supporting and/or partaking in the preparation, analysis, and testing of test items, instruments, and samples.
- Methodology Development
- Design and develop methodology using ICP, HPLC, or LCMS for a range of analysis for food and drink when required.
- Client Support
- Respond to client enquiries relating to testing within the group.
- Compliance and Quality
- Conduct work complying with all relevant policies, rules, methods, procedures, and instructions.
Requirements
- Education and Experience
- Degree or equivalent experience in the field of analytical science.
- Skills and Knowledge
- Good knowledge of food science and technology.
- Good understanding and experience of ICP-MS/OES, HPLC, or LCMS appropriate to the investigation of issues relevant to the food and allied industries.
- Experience as a test signatory under an ISO 17025 quality management system.
- Personal Qualities
- Flexibility to work on multiple tasks and manage priorities.
- Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven effectiveness in managing timely and cost-effective delivery of technical services/research outputs.
