Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our Shock and Dynamics team. As a Senior Engineer, you will support Principal Engineers with ensuring structures and equipment are verified against naval shock requirements. You will also support requirements for sub-systems to ensure overall boat requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting Principal Engineers with the setting of sub-system requirements to meet whole boat naval shock requirements.
  • Supporting management of verification, validation (V&V) and qualification evidence to ensure sub-systems meet shock requirements.
  • Developing design justification documentation.
  • Supporting and undertaking assessments of structures and equipment subjected to naval shock load cases.
  • Providing design guidance at design reviews with respect to naval shock load cases.
  • Undertaking peer review checking activities.
  • Supporting physical shock test activities.
Requirements:
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree (or STEM degree).
  • Knowledge of undertaking structural design calculations (i.e., bolted joints/bending moment/shear stress).
  • Understanding of material strength properties and limits (elastic and plastic properties).
