Job Title:

Senior Engineer - Shock and Dynamics

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our Shock and Dynamics team at BAE Systems. As a Senior Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the structural integrity of our submarines and supporting the development of new designs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Principal Engineers in setting sub-system requirements to meet whole boat naval shock requirements.
  • Manage verification, validation, and qualification evidence to ensure sub-systems meet shock requirements.
  • Develop design justification documentation.
  • Assess structures and equipment subjected to naval shock load cases.
  • Provide design guidance at design reviews.
  • Undertake peer review checking activities.
  • Support physical shock test activities.
Requirements:
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree (or STEM degree).
  • Knowledge of undertaking structural design calculations.
  • Understanding of material strength properties and limits.
