Job Title: Structural Engineer

Location: Barrow-in-Furness

Salary: Circa £50,000

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our Dynamics team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing simulation and analysis of structures and equipment subjected to dynamic loading, providing structural design guidance, and leading technical development and research activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform simulation and analysis of structures and equipment subjected to dynamic loading
  • Provide structural design guidance at design reviews with respect to naval shock load cases
  • Lead technical development and research activities, methods, and acceptance criterion
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers within the team

Requirements:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree (or related STEM degree)
  • Understanding of the principles of structural mechanics and dynamics
  • Understanding of material strength properties (elastic and plastic properties)
  • Experienced in using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software
