Head of Sourcing

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategically minded procurement professional to join our team as Head of Sourcing - Infrastructure. This is a leadership role that will join at the most senior level of our Commercial Team.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in procurement and commercial management, with experience in leading complex procurement and category management projects. They will be responsible for developing strategic sourcing plans for non-pay expenditure categories, delivering year-on-year benefits, savings, and supply chain improvements.
The role will involve providing commercial/strategic procurement advice, leading high-profile procurements, and driving cost improvement programs. The successful candidate will also be responsible for building relationships with senior stakeholders, offering expert advice on procurement and contractual decisions, and working collaboratively with clinical staff and suppliers to improve procurement performance.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's/Degree level or equivalent professional experience, with expertise in ICT/Digital category strategies, major tenders, and procurement. They will also have experience in leading complex procurement and category management projects, change management in complex, multi-stakeholder environments, and cost and spend management for capital and revenue.
We are looking for a candidate who can promote a culture of innovation and improvement, ensure strategic links with national procurement bodies for effective category management, and engage and influence senior stakeholders within the Trust. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing and implementing stakeholder strategies for specific spend categories, exploring collaborative opportunities internally and externally, and ensuring robust workplans and integrated planning across strategies.
The role will involve collaboration with Finance and Commercial colleagues for strategic planning, maintaining strong relationships with external strategic partners and internal senior colleagues, and promoting the Directorate's strategic position in the health economy. The successful candidate will also be responsible for engaging with external networks for horizon scanning, seeking external procurement or legal advice when necessary, and maintaining exemplary relations with trade unions and staff representatives.
